Tips & Techniques

Adhesives

Any adhesive used to mount photos and accessories must be acid-free.Glue Dots, Memory Zots, Mounting Squares, Adhesive Foam and Liquid Glue are a few of your choices.

Mementos

Use invitations and other mementos to bring your pages alive. When adding mementos to your page, test each item with a pH testing pen. If you are still unsure, wrap it in a small piece of polypropylene or a Envelopes or Keepsake Pocket.

Page Protectors

To keep your memory pages safe for years, use Archival-Safe, Polypropylene Page Protectors. Make sure they contain no PVC or plasticizer, they can harm photos.

Paper

Use only Acid-Free Paper to protect your photos from yellowing and decaying.

Pens

Permanent, Acid-Free Pens and pencils help to decorate your pages.

Photo Cropping

Use Straight Edge Scissors to crop your photo to desired shape and size. Then use a Template or Decorative Edging Scissors to finish the look.

Stickers

There are a variety of Acid-Free Stickers to add a personal touch to each page.

Storage

Use a small tool box, tackle box or Scrapbook Organizers to hold all of your scraps of paper, stickers, pens, scissors, or die cuts.

Templates

Create clean looking shapes by using a Template. Trace the shape in pencil on the back of a photo. Store templates in a Binder.. You can even use cookie cutters as "templates".
